My grandson's about to start university in Cardiff and we'll want to do and visit now and again as we're only in Bristol, but could do with a few restaurant recommendations. Any good Indians or Italians?

Casanova Italian in town centre has always been very good when we have eaten there, only a small place so booking probably essential.

Both of those Italians are good, and this was recommended in the Times recently (will be visiting on my next trip)

Casanova and Purple Poppadom. Been going to both for years and have never had a bad meal.

Ffwrnes Pizza upstairs in the market
West Pizza in Glynne St, Pontcanna.
Run by Pizza Boys who have had tv series and were on a prog with Gordon Ramsey as pizza experts he brought in.
Excellent properly made fresh and cheaper/ better than the chains.

Heaneys.

Been multiple times and for me, really is the best restaurant in Cardiff. Food has been incredible every single time.
