Pub with accommodation in Peak District?
Discussion
As the title suggests I'm hoping for some recommendations for nice pubs with rooms in the peak district. We;re planning a couple of nights at the end of September. Premier Travel Holiday Inns are so impersonal (and expensive) we're thinking a pub would be a better bet, and if we can eat well, so much the better. Obviously it will need to have some parking!
Thanks in advance.

The Peacock at Barlow is really quite nice and serves good food with their own brewery.

It's a convoy of three, maybe four cars. Looking to do some driving in the beautiful scenery. Very little walking. Not terribbly fussed whereabouts, but we're coming from the south, so the southern end to middle might make more sense logistically.
I've found a few webites that suggest the best driving roads, but if anyone has experience that would also be greatly appreciated.

Sadly sold out for our dates. Thank you for the recommendationhttps://www.thepeacockatbarlow.co.uk/
I've stayed at the aptly named Manifold Inn http://www.themanifoldinn.co.uk/ in Hulme End, SK17 0EX.
Very comfy rooms, decent pub.

The George at Hathersage is nice with some great driving roads around it https://thegeorgehathersage.com/
If it's driving roads you want, I'd recommend the A6024 from Woodhead over Holme Moss. That gets you out of Derbyshire and towards the better driving roads in the Yorkshire Pennines.
IME Derbyshire roads are 'bitty', busy and full of tourists. The high Pennine roads between Holmfirth and Skipton are outside of National Parks; the transpennine traffic tends to take the M62 or A65; apart from Holmfirth, Skipton and Hebden Bridge which are worth a visit, the area is pretty free of tourism. Bit bleaker than Peaks or Dales but the roads are good.
If you don't want to go too far North, you'll probably find better roads in the Staffordshire Moorlands corner of the Peak.

Another vote for The Manifold Inn, although you are really spoiled for choice in the Peak District, loads of really good pubs serving great food and beer with accommodation. Best bet is to try to narrow your search area, do you want White Peak or Dark Peak? Very comfy rooms, decent pub.
