Lunch around Kings Cross today
Discussion
Currently in the Motherland for our annual catch up with family holiday, wife and children heading up north to see the outlaws today, looking for somewhere around Kings Cross today to have lunch, their train leaves at 2pm.
Doesn't need to be haute cuisine, good honest gastropub or the like will do, needs to be easily walkable from the station car park, the little ones are 5 and 7, TIA.

The German Gymnasium (weird name, ok food) is literally in between Kings Cross and St Pancras about 5mins walk from either.
It has a cafe lunch menu and a restaurant. Cafe more reasonably priced but still not exactly cheap. V handy though.
One stop away on the Vic line to Euston you have Drummond St, if you like curry this is a mini Brick Lane much handier for the stations.

In the station concourse itself is a pub called the parcel yard which serves some good fairly basic food and has plenty of tables. It's a bit hidden away and lots of punters don't realise it's there. If you are standing in the main concourse and look in the direction of platforms 9 and 10 you can see the Harry potter shop in the corner. Next to that are some steps and if you go up the stairs it leads straight into the parcel yard pub.
Another alternative if you go out of the station concourse towards st pancras there is a walkway called kings boulevard. This is a very short walk up to granary Square which is quite a pretty open seating area next to the grand Union canal just north of the edge of the station. When I commuted into kings cross they used to be quite a lot of decent eateries around granary Square with indoor and outdoor seating.
