I love jelly, always have. At 52yrs old I still make it for myself now and again, family think I'm mad. Nowadays I use the sugar free jelly which I make up in a jug and stick in the fridge, and often consume it in a oner.

So considering the ingredients are pretty much just man made chemicals, just how unhealthy it this stuff?

Pork Gelatine, Acid: Adipic Acid, Acidity Regulator: Trisodium Citrates, Flavourings, Sweeteners: Aspartame, Acesulfame K, Colours: Beetroot Red, Beta Carotene, Acid: Fumaric Acid.

Nothing in there will do you harm in small quantities, ie. don;t live on 36 kilos of the stuff every day.

Sugar free for health reasons or dietary? Aspartame and all the rest are not the greatest of things compared to sugar unless there is a need.

I stopped eating Pringles when someone told that me that they can't call them crisps as they contain no potato!

Pringles are made of potato alright, but it's potato flour not sliced potato.

OP, artificial sweeteners are prob the worst of that list health wise. Jelly isn't healthy by any means but there are prob worse things to be hooked on;)

I just assumed that the sugar free jelly would be less bad for me than the standard sugar type..

Sugar, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Water, Pork Gelatine, Acids: Citric Acid, Acetic Acid, Acidity Regulator: Sodium Citrates, Colours: Curcumin, Carmines, Mixed Carotenes, Flavouring

Having worked in the confectionary and pharmaceutical industries for some time... nah. But then I'm no fan of artificial stuff... although I demolish a couple of litres of zero sugar coke.

Pretty easy to make your own jelly with fruit juice, fruit pieces and gelatine. I wouldn’t touch those pre manufactured UPF’s. That jelly must be a perfect example of an industrial food like substance.

Also Ace K makes my face puff up. Since the sugar tax, it’s become the artificial sweetener of choice in most soft drinks, so I stick to sparkling water now.

Some of those chemicals aren't great for you in large quantities, but considering sugar itself is large quantities is also bad for you why worry?

Sugar free jelly is also one the best weight loss tricks there is, it's very filling and satisfies a sweet tooth with very little calorific penalty

Pringles are to potatoes what Monster Munch is to corn. Probably best to not think about it too closely. hehe

The worrying thing about pringles is they have such a high fat content they will burn like a candle...
