I was under the impression, that “bunny chow” spiritual home was Durban.

Any list that has Liverpool as the place for the best food in the UK and 11th globally can safely be consigned to the fantasy bin.

Marrakech is nice enough with some ok street food, but a 'foodie' destination it isn't.

Not sure how Liverpool ended up on the list rather than London, and at number 11!

Some proper foodie cities in Europe are much better than Liverpool: Bologna, Thessaloniki, San Sebastian, Lisbon, Istanbul etc.

Apart from that it looks okay, prefer KL to Bangkok for food but Bangkok is more fun.

CNN Today, travel.

In the UK, the city of Liverpool just missed out on a spot on Time Out’s top 10, coming in at number 11. Time Out shouted out the city’s signature city dish of Scouse – a rich stew usually comprised of beef or lamb – and what Liverpool-based writer Alice Porter calls a “clutch of brand new foodie ventures,” such as Manifest, a restaurant named in the Michelin Guide.

Authentic dish of Scouse.

Scouse is a crap version of hot pot IMHO. Even a good hot pot isn't worthy of putting it's county city on the 'Best City for Food' list. As said an odd list with Liverpool included.

Call me cynical, but I think the list screams out, what cities does ‘Time Out’ want to target next for advertising revenue.

Is Liverpool even the best foodie city in the North West? :P

Not sure it is. Neither are even close to London.

Lancaster region, Chester and Manchester I would say are better than Liverpool. I don't think Liverpool has a Michelin starred restaurant. Appreciate that's not the point of the original list, but it's an indicator of a 'foodie' region in the UK at least.

Manila doesn't get a mention? Do Time Out have an aversion to a kilo of sugar in every recipe?

It’s got a few Michelin starred restaurants in town and surrounding areas , it’s also got some cracking restaurants and pubs , I live on the other side of the water so know it well , I don’t think many who are commenting have been to Liverpool recently.

Ah, didn't know it now had Michelin starred places.

I apparently now live in the Liverpool City Region, I've not ventured into Liverpool though for a good few years.

Seriously , jump on the train and try it out , we’re originally from the north east but moved here about 20 years ago , Liverpool is a different place now from the one I first experienced.
And I’ll admit that first experience wasn’t great !

There are absolutely NO Michelin starred restaurants IN Liverpool.
The lads in Aughton outside Liverpool have a few stars but that is it.

And you would be right but it’s spread right across the country now from their origins of manual workers food in KZN to eat walking along

Moorhall goes back to my Lancaster/Lancashire comment further up. Agree that's a great place

I'll look into it, it's generally Manchester we would venture as until recently I worked there (hybrid type arrangement for office days) and Mrs Tickle is from Manchester.

I’m sure I read that one was recently awarded one , makes no difference to me to be honest , I’ve eaten in a few down south and aughton and I personally think it’s just ‘jobs for the boys ‘
Not sure why you need to use capital letters , maybe you’re important?
