Recommend me a pub - Champions League Final, Wembley.
Discussion
I am in the fortunate position of attending the Champions League final with some friends and I would really appreciate some help finding a decent pub near Wembley Stadium for Saturday afternoon drinks.
I’m looking for a nice place that can accommodate 25 of us & would be able to serve up some decent but simple food. Not too far from the stadium would be helpful.
TIA

It's kind of a publess suburban hell around there, so good luck with your search.
When I'm going to Wembley for the football, I tend to use Alperton tube station and walk from there (about 30 mins) as it's far less crowded than the tube and railway stations around the stadium itself. Makes for a far nicer day out. I once discovered a really left-field pub/restaurant there called "Panthers", don't know if it's still going or suitable for you, but maybe worth looking it up.

Yes, that's the trade-off. Everything near the stadium is a bit low-rent. Anything nice is a bit of a trek.
I tend to go for closer, lower risk of missing kick off that way and ultimately you're not in the pub for long, so for me it doesn't need to be a Michelin Star experience. But I appreciate if it's a one-off and a special occasion that may influence things.
I used The Railway at West Hampstead once, but the ball ache of getting there (from Berkshire) and then getting to the stadium put me off the area on future occasions.

where did you go?
We went to the Alice House pub in West Hampstead, its a nice traditional London pub with a nice Saturday afternoon vibe and with a good crowd. It was good for my friends to see as although they've visited London numerous times they and to head for the more well know areas. The match was great and the Dortmund fans made for an excellent atmosphere.
