Early dinner with kids central London
Discussion
Where would you recommend for an early dinner with two 10 year old lads in central London - think city to the west end.
One has suggested pizza express. And the other wants to go further “upmarket” and go to McDonalds.
I don’t want to do either, or go to five guys, which I just find a disappointment.
Is there a “better” burger place?
Cheers all.

Try James Street near to Selfridges. I think it is one of the hidden gems of the West End for food.
On it and nearby there is a Homeslice Pizza, Flat Iron (steak), Bone Daddies (Ramen), Slim Chickens (think posh KFC), Cote, Sofra, Ping Pong (Asian), Busaba (Thai) and then a Crosstown Doughnuts for afters. Also, if it is nice weather you can sit outside most of them.
Yes, a lot of them are chains, but the decent ones and something different from PE or Maccie D's...

Honest Burger. There are a few around where you'll be.
We've never been disappointed with the burgers there, and the sides are superb. Far better than Gordon Ramsey which was a huge disappointment.
Be prepared to queue, but it';s definitely worthwhile.
That’s what I’d suggest. Or GBK. We've never been disappointed with the burgers there, and the sides are superb. Far better than Gordon Ramsey which was a huge disappointment.

One place I stumbled upon was Steak & Company in Covent Garden - honestly decent value and had fantastic steak
(There were a lot of families in there we noted)

Came here to suggest the same. Giant slices of New York style pizza nom nomSome good calls here.
Nothing wrong with Honest Burger, but just as a slightly more interesting alternative try Beiteddine Express on Clarges St. Epic shawarmas (Lebanese wraps) and there is a Burger & Lobster opposite too;)
Interesting part of town, a stroll round Shepherd Market (where Stirling Moss lived for many years) is always enjoyable.
