We've got Le Creuset ones and they are far and away the best one's we've had.

That said they're a bit pricy.

The John Lewis ones we had before were about half the price, but not as good, but notably better than the <insert random homeware shop> ones we've had prior.

Splendid suggestions chaps, thanks!

Will peruse them properly after work. I like the idea of Le Creausot as I have their pans which are ace.
Peugeot made pepper mills before they made cars.
They come in all the colours the Le Cruset ones do too.

On pepper mills (never had a problem with a salt one) I've had issues with too many recommended ones due to the gap for the corns to drop in to the grinding part being too restrictive with a result of being slow for lots of grinding else being blocked by a couple of corns trying to enter at once. Based on a recommendation here I went with a WMF Trend Spice Mill and have never looked back since. It is superb.

I was never happy with ours, wanted Peugeot based on reviews on here but was trumped by the boss as they matched the kitchenware. Switched to Peugeot in December and the difference is night and day would highly recommend the switch.

The OXO brand ones are very good in my experience, as an added bonus there's always a PH worthy joke available.

Apologies for the massive link.

I've been through had a few mills and had a Le Cruset mill for about 10 years then it stopped working.

The Skeppschult is a Swedish mill and is made from a heavy lump of cast iron. Mine was about £75. the link above has one at £65 reduced from £85. As the le cruset is now about £40 this makes the Skeppschult a bargain as it has a 25 year guarantee and feels like it will outlast that easily! Should see me out. smile

The answer is Peugeot. Go as big as you can.

The others are either imitating them or attempting to reinvent the wheel.

Yeah, I use this: https://www.dunelm.com/product/oxo-softworks-peppe...

It has the added benefit of sitting the right way up wink.

The exact one and it's matching salt grinder is what we have had for ages now.

Pepper Cannon.

Not cheap, but very good indeed. It is the first and only mill I’ve had that beats a Peugeot.

£175 though? On a pepper mill. No. I just won't do it.
Oh yes you will… if you watch the YouTube videos. smile

It is so good that I will buy another when one of my friends eventually manages to steal it.

Look on the bright side… they now sell them in the UK. I had to import mine from the US. MrsLT is oblivious to what it cost…
