Looking to source a particular French wine:
Discussion
There's plenty of decent Rully available from Waitrose, Majestic, Laithwaites and elsewhere. IMO trying to track down that one specific label is a bit of a fool's errand.

Anyone tried this, or know where I can source it?
I brought it back from a Supermarket in France - cost about €20, from memory - but it was really good to drink and I’d love to buy a case or two!
I'm no connosier but isn't the batch of production always limited with finer wines?I brought it back from a Supermarket in France - cost about €20, from memory - but it was really good to drink and I’d love to buy a case or two!
So maybe buying that extra case was what you needed to do?
Check out their website. I'll bet cash money that very little of their wine leaves France.

I’m not sure €20 per bottle is really a ‘finer wine’ - it’s more likely that this stuff doesn’t leave France, I think that’s the issue. So maybe buying that extra case was what you needed to do?

I'd be inclined to get a bottle from Waitrose and see what you think.
Drouhin is a big and reasonably well respected label printer.
Agree that fine wine and ££££ are not always correlated. Fashions change. Some of the most expensive wines in the World used to come from Germany and the Western Loire. They're still very good and nice examples are available for well under £20 a bottle.

I'd just ring a decent local wine merchant and ask for a price. I used a couple who could source most things.

I managed to buy a bottle of Pavillon Rouge 1998 for 20 Euros at a Leclerc in Brittany about 15 years ago. I would definitely class that as a "fine" wine.
Amazing what you can find in French supermarkets...Additionally it's always porker drivers who seem to patronise me on this forum...!
I probably wouldn't bother, just simply because (unless they have a UK distributor) it's a bit of a PITA trying to get merchant interested in a couple of cases of wine from a producer they don't usually deal with. Too much work, for very little return, and the risk that the wine doesn't live up to that single customer's expectations when it arrives.
Some small producers will however ship directly if you contact them. Might be worth a try if you can find some contact details?
Alternatively, perhaps have a look at some of the merchants with a decent burgundy footprint and see what they can offer as an alternative? With white burgundy having had some issues a decade or two back, I stopped following developments there as closely and never really went back to buying as much as I used to. What I do buy tends to be much more on the advice of a couple of merchants than would be the case in other regions.
