Air fryer with a "timer" function?
Discussion
Hi all. Currently using a very basic air fryer, which has temperature and timer only, so we fancy an upgrade as we use it lots.
However what we would like is to be able to programme it so that the food is ready at a specified time.
For example we have an hour for lunch, like to use most of that time for exercise, but we would like to be able to tell the air fryer to have it ready at the time we normally get back...
Say we are out for 50 minutes, but the item only takes 20 minutes to cook, is there a machine out there where I am able to tell it what time to start and finish?
I've done a search but it's not clear whether any machines have this function - all have simple "off" timers, others cook until it detects the food is cooked and others have the ability to synchronise 2 food items cooked separately but I can't see this particular function mentioned.
Thanks

The only thing to be careful of is that most food in air fryers generally need shaking or turning during the cooking cycle. However what we would like is to be able to programme it so that the food is ready at a specified time.

Not sure I would want to leave my air fryer running unsupervised.
@ham and jam: That's a fair point I guess - the main thing we cook on a lunch time is either a jacket potato (but that's not a problem as it takes about an hour anyway) or chicken breasts (which take about 25 minutes usually), and it was those we were thinking about.
If such a thing doesn't exist then it is what it is I guess.
@defcon: sadly not mate it's a digital one with touch buttons so that won't work.

As well as the mid cook shake, most would also expect you to be putting the food in after it has warmed up to operation temp (I know few people bother...)
Aye I must admit I don't bother doing this either, I'd always assumed it to be part of the advantage of an air fryer still I've not had any problems with anything I've cooked.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
