Hi

Looking to buy some decent Saucepans + Frying pan, for induction hob.
Must have dead flat bottom & straight sides.
The Miele hob won’t work otherwise..
Stainless steel.
Seen Le Crueset Signature in John Lewis, £333 for 3 Saucepans on offer..

Any recommendations for a good set please?

Need to last forever.

Budget say up to £500

Haven't got this set but the Le Creuset stainless pans I have work well on my induction hob.

Same set are cheaper here , and always found them reliable to deal with

When you say 'set of saucepans', what do you actually need/use?

As opposed to ending up with a load of cupboard-clogging lids.

I mostly use:

28cm cast iron casserole for oven and hob
28cm pasta pot with insert (doubles as stock pot, clear lid also fits casserole)
Small milk pan
30cm frying pan with lid
30cm wok (lid from frying pan also fits)
20cm frying pan

Get the Le Cs, we're nearing 20 years on our First Gen ones and they're still perfect. Their guarantee is good too - I've needed that a couple of times on Le C non-stick frying pans.

A 24cm round le creuset casarole dish is our go to pan for pretty much everything family (spag bol, chilli. curry etc)

https://www.brandalley.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/...

I bought several smaller, handled, cast iron le creuset sauce pans on the back of it but they just sit at the back of the cupboard unused as they're just too heavy to be convenient to cook some peas etc.

We have a set of s/s Samuel Groves for general duties: https://www.samuelgroves.com/Products/stainlessste...

Handmade in the UK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-y5i5KhuDo

They are stupid expensive at full RRP, but they regularly have large discounts or can be bought elsewhere: https://seasoncookshop.co.uk/products/samuel-grove...

Finally a large (therefore heavy) Le Creuset deep frying pan for everything else (not just frying): https://www.brandalley.co.uk/18016691.html?queryID...

Hi, thanks all for the suggestions
Looking for 3 saucepans & a frying pan initially, so the first suggestion is great.
Will add milk pan / casserole & others later.

The existing ones are ok for now..

The newish set that is pretty rubbish, the hob doesn’t really like them, look tatty as the finish is chipping away. Buy cheap, buy twice..

We do have 3 ‘boots’ steel saucepans that are old & work great!, so will continue to use those as needed. Better than the new ones.

So looking to get something that will last 20 years, happy to pay for it within reason, if the quality is there.

The Le Crueset ones seem to fit the bill, open to suggestions

Scanpan. Samuel groves. Pro cook for a bit more budgety scanpan copies.

Have a look at Debuyer mineral b. I always order them for new kitchens/galleys.
