Had a glass of oloroso in a small schooner before dinner

Had a cheap dram (Tamnavulin NAS) in the same glass (without washing) after dinner - very good.

I have been known to put a few drops of tawny port in whiskey thats a bit rough for my taste. Really mellows it out and makes it a lot more drinkable.

YMMV!

I'm sure there are plenty of slightly rough blended Irish whiskeys?

This. The word "hack" is so stupid and seems to be used constantly now. You don't "hack" a glass of whisky.

Has anyone ever made an infinity bottle?

Was thinking of starting one for scotch and maybe a bourbon one

Or you could save money not buy and wastexa single malt and just start trying the never ending bottles of blends that are out there. You have everything from a Glens whisky to Johnnie Walker Blue label to try in blended whisky.

I've got one. Plain label on the front listing everything that goes in. Maybe about 50-75ml out of a bottle. Bit of fun and a talking point.

One thing I would advise is keep peated whiskies separate. One dram of a fairly peaty whisky (in my case a NAS Kilchoman) will overwhelm the others.

The point of my original post is that a simple intervention can really improve the flavour of an otherwise pleasant but not outstanding dram.
