Would welcome PH recommendations for Sunday brunch 1100-ish for 4, Edinburgh city centre with a booze licence. Many thanks

Dishoom is always a good shout (St Andrew's Square) but I'd personally head down to The Raeburn in Stockbridge then check out the market nearby afterwards. Brewhemia next to Waverley Station does a boozy brunch too which is good. Oh, The Ship on the Shore in Leith is ideal if you want seafood type dishes. Lovely wee place.

The oracle has chosen Loudons because of the haggis eggs benedict! Thanks again

How was it? (awaits with bated breath)

Strange coincidence but I was in Loudons on Friday with the visiting in-laws and my daughter whilst waiting for my wife to finish work early and head off somewhere together. Sad to say, I felt it was pretty crap but they started off on the wrong foot when the waitress looked at my MiL with utter disdain when she ordered something simple off the kid's menu (digestive issues, surgery soon) as she can't manage much more than toast and poached eggs.

They absolutely drowned the banana and pancakes in generic maple syrup to the point my sweet-toothed 2 year old wouldn't touch it. The coffee was rubbish and overall, the place seemed a bit... grotty.

This was their spot off Lothian Rd/Fountainbridge direction - I hope you at least went to their venue just off the Royal Mile as I have been there before for a large group brunch and it was great.
