Brunch - Oxford Recommendations
Discussion
I recently asked about Sunday Lunch options for a forthcoming trip to Oxford in here and got what looks like a great suggestion which I’ve booked from a fellow member.
The other half has just informed me that she hasn’t booked breakfast at the hotel we are staying in so I’m now hoping to get some decent suggestions for brunch near the Malmasion if possible. I’ve looked on the usual travel sites and tripadvisor but I’m not convinced with a lot of the results. For example, Turtle Bay is ranked 5th for brunch on TA.

Are you a hobbit? (Brunch & Lunch on the same day )
Without the teasing, I’d try Browns…
Sorry, do you mean the independent greasy spoon in the Covered Market (which has been there forever, although perhaps not under the same ownership, and which is great) or the branch slightly chichi chain on the Woodstock Road, near Little Clarendon Street? Without the teasing, I’d try Browns…
Both are, I guess, Oxford institutions, but I’d prefer to avoid the chain. I nursed many hangovers in the market.
Brunch and lunch, are these the same day?!
I'm going to assume Welshy means Browns in the covered market, it's a caffff really, not fancy but good grub.
If you want something a big fancier:
George Street Social
Vaults and Garden
Handle Bar (Avo on toast style)
Ole & Steen (Dutch pastry goodness)
Cherwell boathouse is a bit more upmarket
Quod if you can get outside is nice
There is the Ivy, and a Breakfast club, but chains, so maybe not?
Killingworth Castle is lovely for your lunch, you'll enjoy it! Some good roads near by too
