How do YOU make sangria
Discussion
I would just like to make a regular sangria like I remember having it in Spain, however is seems like everyone has their own version and ingredients. Care to share how you make it or is there a traditional/regular version that I have just missed.
I have bought some cheap red and some other bits to have a go tomorrow.
Curacao Triple Sec Orange Liqueur
2 oranges
2 apples
sparkling water
Monin Grenadine Syrup 25cl
My Mexican cook book has this recipe, which reminded me to have a go
1 litre (4 cups) dry red wine
1 cup (250ml) mineral water
1/2 cup (125ml) grenadine
2 medium oranges, segmented
2 medium peaches, peeled, chopped
Combine all ingredients in large bowl or jug; cover, refrigerate 6 hours. Makes about 2 litres (8 cups).
Recipe can be made 6 hours ahead. Storage: Covered, in refrigerator.

The one time I made Sangria it wasn't traditional .
1 750ml bottle of buckfast
250ml of vodka
a can of redbull
250ml of orange juice
topped up with ice.
You missed the all important bit https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/258...1 750ml bottle of buckfast

I tried the Sainsburys version, it was crap and overly sweet. Also I refuse to shop in Tesco. His name is Simon, Don Simon

Sort of Spaniard here.
1 bottle half decent wine. Don't use crap or anything overly sweet. Campo Viejo is widely available and does the trick.
Same amount of the least sweet lemonade you can find. In Spain, traditional sangria is/was made with La Casera which is lightly sweetened fizzy water. UK lemonade is way too icky sweet. If you have a Sodastream, then make your own. Or use a bottle of soda water and a few tbsps of sugar, stir until dissolved.
I throw in a glug of sweet sherry.
Diced apple, orange, even lemon - whatever you have handy. Not cucumber tho. Top up with plenty of ice.
Think refreshing wine cocktail, not an alcopop, and you'll get there.

That sounds great. I think a light, fruity Cotes du Rhone would work well.1 bottle half decent wine. Don't use crap or anything overly sweet. Campo Viejo is widely available and does the trick.
