From the company behind Loungers and Cosy Club, I wonder if the kids will "get it"?

Long way to go when you're on the way back to London from Silverstone! https://brightside.co.uk/

I never did understand why Little Chef went under. Didn't have a bad reputation as an eatery, I guess it couldn't compete with the McDonald's of this world?motco said:

With kids in tow i’d 100% look a visiting one on a long journey. Could also be a great time to reinvent this kind of service stop with the rise of EVs.
We recently broke up a 4 hour drive to Sussex with a stop at a pub for lunch and it made the whole experience so much more enjoyable.
On the way back it was a stop at an overcrowded Mcdonalds to eat in the car, and as much as I love some Chicken Selects it just wasn’t as nice of a break!

Well, it did really. The food was crap. I think the core of it is
1. Cars are more comfortable for long distances now. Stopping for meals isn't necessary, it's something quick and easy to go.
2. Fast food chains cottoned on to this, so people can have what they recognise - McDonalds, KFC, etc - at the roadside or on the go.
I am no epicurean or gourmet, but as my company provided THF (the owners at the time) with security equipment, I was provided with free food whenever I visited a Little Chef. You knew what you were getting and it was simple and reasonable quality. I would use them and pay anyway if in need of a lunch. The standards may have declined after THF sold it on, so I have no idea of its later existence.
A lot of the services, at least around London seem to be fast food halls now. Modern glossy glass building, lots of food choices inside, so your family can pick and chose. Quite possible dad has a M&S sandwich, mum has a Subway and the kids McDonalds and eat together in the same area.
Sit down and eat with table service on a journey has fallen out of favour it seems.

No pancakes on the menu! Was the only reason I would stop at a Little Chef.https://brightside.co.uk/
