Hi guys and girls ...just returned from a holiday and it seems the indulgence has helped the weight creep up over half a stone

I'm looking for a quick solution to lose weight brekkie and lunch time whilst at work to keep hunger at bay but keep me sort of full to get through the day and eat normally dinner time .

I'm not mega heavy about 190lbs but would like to get through the day not starving but healthy .

Any tips be appreciated..I'm fairly active and do 40 mile bike rides at weekends to keep fit

Cheers

For quick weight loss I'd probably look at a Keto diet

They are tough to endure though

Porridge and blueberries for breakfast and a chicken salad for lunch with a piece of fruit for a snack with plenty of water.
Track your calories with MyFitnessPal or similar.

Pretty much this, some slow release carbs in the morning with some fruit for a bit of sugar, high protein lunch and then the same again for dinner. Try and keep protein high in all meals as it'll keep you feeling full.

Lots of water.

Tracking calories is the biggest thing, MyFitnessPal is still very good as a free app.

Keto will probably drop you more weight in a shorter time having said this but it's harder to maintain. If you like boiled eggs it's a lot easier, couple for breakfast/lunch as you can cook them ahead of time and keep them in the fridge.

High water content, low calorific density foods

Reduced carbs, but not cutting out all carbs, so NOT Keto

Just go back to what you were doing before the weight gain and it should return to normal. It’s fine to diet as long as you then stay away from the stuff that made you gain weight.

You need calorie deficit to lose weight and then balance to stay normal.

Loose the booze. Then any other obvious junk calories - crisps, biscuits, cake, sugary drinks even fruit juices. They are all junk.

Keto is great for weight loss. Bread, pasta, and potatoes are junk food adjacent, nutrient wise.

If you cannot commit to a "faddy" diet (one with a name seems to be the definition here) concentrate on eating better not less. Eat whole foods. Meals big enough that you don't feel the need to snack. You want protein and the natural ratio of fat to feel full. Steak is great. Eggs are pretty much perfect.

I've been tracking calories, trying to have less than 1500 a day. Lost 2.3kg in a week.

That's pretty extreme if genuine weight loss and not just water.

Wouldn't you need an absurdly high calorie deficit each day to hit that?

Cut out all super processed foods - i.e. anything with ingredients that you won't find in your kitchen cupboards (preservatives, emulsifiers, sweeteners, artificial colours and flavours)
Eat your evening meal by 7pm, don't eat anything afterwards
Stop snacking on crap during the day

Look at Huel (or similar) for lunch - there is a higher protein version if you want that. It works out at around £2 a meal & 400 calories so combined with porridge for breakfast it should get you through until the evening.

I was going to suggest dodgy prawns, as i lost around half a stone in a week after a suspect paella.
