For Sunday lunch.

Ideally good food (read gastro) and walking distance to a nice area for a stroll, preferably along the Thames. Riverside terrace a big bonus!

Have done Hinds head, Monkey Island, Oakley Court (now hotel guests only) and Boulters Lock (not quite a pub but not too pretentious either).

Budget is comfortable but not quite Waterside Inn comfortable (will have to pay for 5)!

Thanks muchly

The White Oak in Cookham is excellent, been going there for ages (even had our wedding reception there). They've got a Michelin Bib Gourmand, not too far from the river either. There's also Roux at Skindles, where the A4 crosses the river, not been but heard good things.

White Oak is good. Sticking with cookham you have The Bel & The Dragon and the Ferry. The Ferry is river side if you get a seat on the terrace, food is ok. Both the other two have much better food. From all three you can do a nice walk along the Thames, back across the marsh and up to golf course. Something like the below

Thanks!
Bel and the Dragon has an interesting looking menu, and that Thames walk sounds ideal.

Came here to suggest Bel and the Dragon - it’s nice, and you can stroll around town, into Eton, or along the river from it easily.

Edit: Bel and the Dragon in Windsor, I’m thinking of - sounds like there are several!

Used to love going there too. Parky junior has now set up in another pub around the Cumbrian/Nurthumberland borders

The Beehive at White Waltham is run by a chap on our road and is very good

The Greene Oak may be half a level down from what you want but it's very good food
