Not seen one here. I'll start:
Just tried the latest vegan Mexican bake thing. The veggie version of the limited nacho chilli cheese melt they bring out every now and then.
Pleasantly surprised. Pastry is bang on, and not as anaemic looking as most of the vegan offerings, plenty of crunch too.
Filling was sweet and spicy, with a good amount of smokiness. The "chicken" didn't taste like Quorn, which is a positive to me. Nice texture, firm and moist without being rubbery or chewy.
Overall I'm pretty impressed with it. Would be good to have it alongside the non-vegan version for proper pastry parity. Might have to nip to Iceland

Yeah, a few times. Girlfriend is veggie so I'm used to eating various meat alternatives..
It's ok. I find it a bit dry though. Not a fan of plant based pastry, but it's acceptable. The Quorn sausage filling is pretty good in isolation, but doesn't compare in a side-by-side test.
Their vegan "steak" bake however, was superb. Possibly superior to the original. More flavour in the gravy, and a bit of onion as well. And no gristle, for obvious reasons!

Ha, true. Only cos it's their latest new offering though. I'm not trying to push the vegan agenda. I have no strong feelings either way a long as it tastes good and isn't ridiculously expensive.
On that note, I usually tend to only go in for breakfast now, latte and a bacon roll for £2.60 has to be about the best value going

I’ll do a bacon roll and a tea now and then.
Its nothing special, but perfectly fine, and a bargain in this day and age.
My more regular purchase is a chicken bacon club baguette, a tea and a caramel custard doughnut.
All this is 4.80, and I honestly enjoy every bit of it.
Not too fussed with the bakes and sausage rolls etc...but I reckon it’s generally a decent company with friendly staff, and also ethically on the ball too from what I’ve heard.

Theyre very succesful, so i presume im not their target market. They don't do pies, and that's really what I want from a bakery. I'm not a big fan of the slice things or the sausage rolls.
Used to eat the jam donughts that were very cheap.
Baguettes are quite nice, but its a good 15 minute queue at lunch and that means I'd eat by myself so not worth it. If they had a queue fpr people that want fancy coffee and one for everything else I'd certainly try again, I think that's what's holding it up.

I’ve no other alternative local to the current project so I’ve been a regular visitor for a sandwich or roll for about 3 years. It’s reasonable value and enough decent food in my opinion. As above, they’re a fairly ethical and decent company so I also make sure I buy a few Kids Club Charity Breakfasts every week. The staff sometimes struggle to find it on their till but all shops do it. For 25p each, it makes sure some poor little person gets fed before starting school that day.

I didn't know that. Thanks, that's a great cause. Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
