Biting in to raw chicken
Discussion
I can be the sole candidate for Top Numb Nuts award having just bitten into some raw chicken by mistake. They're breaded goujons which I thought were cooked despite not being in the ready to eat fridge.
Luckily realised straight away and spat it out without swallowing anything - rinsed mouth out with water.
What do you reckon, $hits on the way or get away with it! Will update.

My sister in law bit into raw chicken at a hotel during a wedding meal, chewed it a couple of times, realised it was raw, and spat it out. It looked cooked on the outside.
She then warned the other guests on the table. Some of them cut their chicken open and it was raw as well.
She felt unwell the next day, had severe vomiting that evening, and ended up in hospital for the best part of 2 weeks. It was really bad. The hospital informed Environmental Health who asked her where she had eaten, and then proceeded to investigate the hotel.
This was a 'Luxury' hotel who had won loads of awards from Conde Nast, Sunday Times, Tatler etc. They just went down the route of deny, deny, deny, and hope no one can prove anything. They told my sister in law that she couldn't possibly have gotten ill from their food, must have got it somewhere else, and just refused to even acknowledge it. Basically told her to fk off after putting her in hospital for 2 week. Nice.

They would never admit liability, think what it would have done to the business. What was the outcome of the EH investigation? She then warned the other guests on the table. Some of them cut their chicken open and it was raw as well.

Arent those cooked anyway and all you do is heat them through? Whenever I cook breaded chicken at home, with actual raw chicken, I have to cook it straight away otherwise liquid from inside the chicken makes the breading soggy in no time.
I’ve found breaded goujons from supermarkets are generally reconstituted chicken which are factory precooked to some degree.

I've done the same before with the same product a few years back.Luckily realised straight away and spat it out without swallowing anything - rinsed mouth out with water.

OP should be fine. I think it is normally when chicken has sat for a period of time at room temp that the bacteria gets going,
Worst case it will be the fastest way to lose a bit of weight ever.
Chicken meat is covered in bacteria, just gets worse the longer it sits around. A mouthful probably do nothing as long as it wasn't a salmonella flock.Worst case it will be the fastest way to lose a bit of weight ever.

If your SiL ended up in hospital and she told them what happened, they should have examined her poopy poop for bacteria. Shame she didn't contact any of the other guests to see if they were ill as well.
I believe they did examine her poop and the cause was confirmed as Campylobacter. There were other people who were ill, but not hospitalised. Just had the sts/vomiting for a day or so. At college back in the 1980s/1990s that would be considered lucky.
They used to have competitions on how quick, in the student union bar, you could eat a tin of dog food just for a pint.
I came 2nd by the way, just because that I actually finished my tin. Not that I am still bitter 30 plus years on of course. I bet VAR would have been in my favour saying that. It still wrankles. Honest sportsmen and all that fk him.
