Anyone used Swede rather than spuds to make chips? I’ve run out of spuds but have Swede… will go with ham and eggs…. smile

I love swede! Get it soft, smash it up, plenty of butter and seasoning and then eat. But no, never done chips with it. Let me know how you get on though!

Swede is quite nice roasted along with other winter vegetables - celeriac, beetroot, butternut squash, parsnip etc - in the society of garlic, ginger, chilli and soy.

I often make this as the basis of office lunches, to which you can add whatever's to hand: leftover roasts, beans, salmon... It all works.

I was thinking it must have been quite hard trying to get the right consistency. But at least you had a go with it!
