So I'm not a bad cook, but tend to do the same meals during the week and fancy changing it up a bit,

I've looked online / and at books I've thought would be good but a lot seem fairly complex receipts with a large list of ingredients needed. I have little time and patience for this! So if i can cook something up in say under an hour which tastes good I'm hoping it will stop the takeaway cravings. Typically at present I tend to use fresh meat but then use packet sauces,

What I'm looking for

- Healthy meals for two
-quick to prepare / cook
- A small amount of ingredients / under say 10 items per meal, easily available from supermarket

Thanks for your help

Pinch of Nom books are all brilliant - recipes are all over the web, FB, etc
Bosh if you fancy staying away from meat a few times a week

ETA I re-read your OP and noticed the "take away cravings" bit. Pinch of Nom have a brilliant "Fake-away" section

For quick to make things, "The Roasting Tin" is excellent, however I do find that some of them are low in protein.

for healthy food that tastes good if you follow the recipe, then the Hairy Dieters series are good and seem more nutritious to me.

This, Try some of their online recipes first and go from there. I buy very few cookbooks these days I tend to use pinch of nom, epicurious and the spruce eats.

I find Tesco recipes good. There are some specifically for two here:

BBC Food is also a useful website:

I forgot to add, Bosh now so ready to make packs with everything needed to make some of their recipes if you fancy a quick tester, I’ve seen them in Asda

The Hairy Bikers trilogy meet your need perfectly.

I doubt that the two twerps actually wrote them, but whoever did, knows exactly what they are doing. Covers low-calorie takeaway foods as well as simply tasty dishes that you will want to cook again and again.

The books credit Justine Pattison (writer) and Lauren Brignell, BSc Hons Nutrition.

I have no idea how much input each have in the book's creation.

I've got that, and the recipes are indeed simple and easy, but I've found that some of the recipes have lower protein levels in them that I'd like, thus missing the "healthy" requirement.

Tom Kerridge does quite a few healthy eating books, I find his recipes a piece of piss to follow.

If you want simple/quick/no BS you can do worse than look at what Jamie Oliver does

For an emphasis on healthy, I (against all my preconceptions) quite recommend the Fast 800 books. Some of the stuff in them is really tasty. When my wife got them I expected rabbit food but we eat out of them at least 1-2x per week.

Got this recently and it’s become my latest go to. Not strictly a healthy eating book, but many of the recipes use low fat ingredients and it is excellent

Simply: Easy everyday dishes: The 5th book from the bestselling author of Persiana, Sirocco, Feasts and Bazaar https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1784725161/ref=cm_sw_r...

We did lots of their recipes trying to shed some weight for a special event. Good tasty food and simple to prep. Worth a look
