What is your favourite Tea?

After a recent discussion at work what is your favourite Tea when in need of a cuppa.

We normally get P.G Tips but I'm told Yorkshire is alot better so will be trying it soon.

Ignoring Green, Matcha and Fruit tea's etc what is your favourite?

I know there a probably hundreds more brands but over to you.

Recently made the switch from PG Tips to Sainsbury's red label... 1/3 of the price and makes a stronger and more full bodied cup of tea.

Yorkshire is the king of regular tea, their Gold stuff is even better if you have money to throw around.

I don't drink tea, however the wife used to be all about PG Tips but since trying Aldi Gold label, that is all she will have; damn site cheaper too.

I don't drink tea, but my wife likes Typhoo.

She's about to run out but I can't find it anywhere and I've tried 3 different supermarkets.

Do any of you tea bods know if there's a production issue, or have shops have stopped selling it because it rates poorly in the PH poll?

Clipper organic - usually their unbleached teabags rather than loose-leaf. Nothing to do with it being organic or having unbleached teabags - it just makes a really nice cup of tea.

Yorkshire tea gets my vote and my money. My wife got me on it 15 odd years ago and it is the king of “builders “ tea.

I like a twinning Assam,murrogs welsh brew and glengetti not on list ,so I voted other ,I like a tea pig as a treat now and again,expensive things

Well, all those options are brands rather than types of tea. I usually go for an Assam. I don't find any of the brands are that consistent because the blend varies - for which reason it isn't on the packet.

Shouldn't the title be what's your favourite tea bag? Do any of those mentioned do loose leaf?

Most of ours come from Tips N Leaves or Lente Thee. I like an English Breakfast or a Darjeeling, but have several Rooibos and Green teas on the go too.

Dilmah, various blends, but cannot find it in any supermarkets here anymore. Proper no crap ceylon tea it was.

currently Twinings Assam, or Strong Breakfast if Assam is not availble.

Bettys Breakfast blend loose leaf is nice.

if im slumming it, will have Yorkshire Gold or Dorset Tea or Barrys Irish which isn't bad.

Typhoo is awful Tetley not much better. Haven t had PG in a while.

Yorkshire used to do single location bags seasonal, from Kenya, Assam and Rwanda which were usually decent but think thats ceased.

Like iced sweet tea too (the US drink and the Nestea stuff you get to cure a hangover in spain), but not green tea.

I've been meaning to post a question on this for a few weeks now.

I come over to the UK a few times per year and I bulk buy Yorkshire tea, Colmans mustard, Branston pickle and a few other bits and pieces, for myself and a few friends.

The last load of Yorkshire tea tastes like st. I now need to use 5 tea bags in a big pot (only needed 3 in the past). Not just me, two friends have made the same comment.

Anyone else noticed a difference?

it varies season on season, blends will always try to accommodate to make a consistent flavour/strength but sometimes growing conditions preclude this. that or they've reduced the quality!
