Cider drinkers
Discussion
Just starting to get into this.
I enjoy Weston's old Rosie albeit a bit strong @ 7.3%
From the local Cider shop https://www.hoganscider.co.uk/ I've tried High Sobriety @ 1% it's a good low alcohol option. And the peaty dry cider @ 5.8% but lacks some flavour to my mind.
I'll pop in and try a couple more, anything else I should be trying?

If you're ever down in the west country, the thatcher's ciders farm in Sandford - they have still ciders in barells and of course the rest of their range. 5 Litres of still scrumpy for about 8 quid!
That sounds very good, unlikely I'll be passing that way soon though. If you like the flavoured ciders try Lilleys, who do mail order.
If you visit Somerset, go to Bere Cider on the way from Bridgwater to Langport, his flat cider is the nectar of the gods.
It is fairy cheap. But I really enjoy Thistly Cross Whisky Cask. It is also rather strong at 6.9%. Their original is also nice (6.2%). Niether are overly sweet, the original has a lovely aftertaste, almost a honey like taste. The whisky cask one has the same, but with the hint of peaty whisky to it.

Sandford Orchards you mean? Thatchers is from elsewhere. Assuming you mean Sandford Orchards just outside Crediton.
And their cider is some of the best you can get IMO.
'Devon Mist' and 'Devon Red' fantastic session ciders or if you prefer the Scrumpy, the straw-filtered 'Old Kirton' is fantastic!

too kind, will try that, last mixture was Westons old Rosie and Kracken, it hurt.Rattler, as mentioned by several others, is always a good option.
Aldi do one called Premium Vintage Cider and while I'm not going to claim it's the best thing you will ever drink, it is nice, easy to get hold of and cheap. I only tried it because I wasn't going near anywhere selling Rattler, but since then, it's been pretty much the only cider I've bought.

Oh there has to be a good story behind this, I was witness to my ex partner after two and she never made work the next day, obvious, all my fault, as I was driving and should have stopped her, yeah as if.....I only tried it because I wasn't going near anywhere selling Rattler, snipped.
The best cider is homemade because it can be made from 100% apples and no chemical additives. Roadside farms aside, the stuff you buy has an average of only 30% apple juice, the rest is water, sugar, chemicals, flavourings etc. It can still be legally sold even with a content of just 7% apples. I would say even the traditional roadside farm types water it down, but have no evidence. It isn't a legal requirement to let the public know the ingredients.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but really a lot of the time what you are drinking isn't really cider in the true sense of the word, it's water, glucose and a bit of apple juice of varying content.
In a perfect world i'd send you some, it would blow your taste buds.
And your socks off
