Buying wine in bulk
Discussion
We (the Mrs and I) enjoy a bit of red, rioja mainly and malbec but we seem to be spending a fortune on it at tesco, there has to be a cheaper way of buying it, I don't mind at the beginning of the month spending £200 - £400 on a bulk buy of decent wine.
The problem we have is that we have a lot of family visits per week who also enjoy sampling our stocks so I seem to be spending more than I should.
Any advice as to where people buy their wine would be great.

Supermarkets aren't the best places to buy wine. Limited choice, not great quality and poor pricing.
Have a look at the merchants. Majestic are good as are places like the Wine Society.
Smaller merchants are more likely to do a deal for larger amounts. I have used Great Western Wine in Bath who were good and usually have 10% off a case and free delivery.
Other than that take a van over the Calais and really stock up.

I don't have the time for Calais but I'm sure there is a wine merchant at the bottom of duke street in Liverpool, I just assumed it was trade only.Have a look at the merchants. Majestic are good as are places like the Wine Society.
