Recommend me a restaurant in Brighton please

As the title really, Mrs Hoonigan and myself have got a night off from the kids and are off to Brighton on Saturday to see Dave Gorman.
We have a nice hotel booked, My Hotel in Jubilee Street, and will arrive about 14:00, DG starts at 20:00 so looking to go for a nice leisurely meal fairly early doors around 17:30 - 18:00, there's a reputably good curry house next to the hotel so that's an option but would love some other recommendations, we eat pretty much all food and dont mind paying for a good meal but would prefer to keep it the right side of £50-£60 per head.
So over to PH, what and where can we eat....

If you can get a table then 64 degrees in theSouth lanes is probably the best at the moment. Small menu changing all the time. The portions are smaller so you order quite a few and they bring them out staggered. The price is fair and the quality is excellent. We went a couple of weeks ago and with wine, dessert and dessert wine we spent about 100 with tip, that included having two courses again as they were so good. 6 choices from the menu is probably good for two.
If that's booked which it often is then mange tout does excellent french food, again menu changes all them time. Or mange tout has a smaller place called plateau, simple menu but good food and some of the best cocktails in Brighton.

Having just checked 64 degrees they have a table at six which is when they open for dinner. I would book it, the menu is deceiving in its simplicity, they flavours are great. The tongue, pea, jowl they have on there at the moment is so good, rich but perfectly balanced. They usually allow 2 hours per booking so an hour and a half will give you plenty of time to stroll to the show.

Fantastic, thank you, we are booked in for 18:00 and looking forward to it 
not something we normally pick but excited about giving it a go, I will report back....Excellent, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's a small restaurant with a cosy atmosphere. I'm jealous, if they still have the tongue on the menu I'd recommend it, could go for that now. They change their menu all the time, but if you like desserts and it's on the menu then the banana, malt, miso was seriously good last week, the plum onken was also very good, but very different, much more refreshing than the banana but the flavour of the banana was the winner. I'm not much of a sharer of food, but this place changes that just so I can try as many of the dishes as possible.
Well we went, we ate and we enjoyed!

I really can't remember exactly what we had but it included; Rump Steak, wings, scallops, Haddock, potatoes, bananas and chocolate all washed down with a couple of great IPA's and an amazing Pinot Gris from a local vineyard, which I will now be hunting down a few bottles for Christmas...
