Xmas pressie (for self) - useful kitchen toys

As ever struggling to think of anything for Christmas. Fancy something nice but must have nearly every bit of kitchen kit going now. The only thing I can really think of is a dehydrator but I'm buying one for work and can't really see that being used at home.

Anyone got any great ideas? Things you find really useful?

A few things lately.

A set of metal mixing bowls, a serrated sandwich spreader/cutter, an Andrew James £20 ice cream maker and a new wusthof classic fluted knife.

Maybe not what you had in mind but useful all the same.

An insulated coffee cafitierre ....... keeps coffee nice n warm for the second cup

Wireless Meat thermometer with settings for different Meat and 'doneness'.

Wouldn't be without mine now. It's as good for roasting as BBQ'ing big lumps of meat.

Do a search for 'Oxo Good Grips' on Amazon. They do a huge range of gadgets and utensils, all very good quality. I have a few things from the range... a spreader, a lemon zester, a can opener and a pizza cutter.

Pretty much got them all for home, good stuff. Struggling for ideas other than really stupidly expensive stuff s I've bought most of the normal "toys" for work.

Got numerous commercial blenders and mixers (latest measured in BHP ), can "blend" a small car if needed

If you can then a pacojet. We finally got one at work, after a 16 month wait, and it made life so much easier.

Tell me more. is it really as good as the demo videos? We make quite a lot of different ice creams and sorbets but use a normal machine. Does the pacojet just make that easier or does it open up new possibilities?

I notice that Simon Rogan uses one, so must be good!
