That red juice isn't blood - http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/04/th...

It's pissed all the juice out because it hasn't been rested properly too I'd guess.

Always a good idea to have the chips served on a seperate plate...or failing that, transfer them to your sideplate smile

I'd still prefer it not be there!

It wasn't all bad, it's just my first time eating one quite so rare.

Interesting, I'll be looking clever next time!

It didn't have a bloody taste to be fair but was a bit wet when chewing if that makes sense

yes
Just needs more resting but looks fantastic. Far better than the medium cooked piece of rubber I was served last night.

Agree with the last posts, needed resting, but not on the serving plate, should be transferred at the last min from a separate plate, that there steak is perfect in all other respects

Looks tasty. Bit rarer wouldn't have worried me.

Lack of resting. Major problem. Otherwise it looked about right. That pink juice should have been given time to soak back into the meat. Rule of thumb is rest for at least as long as you cooked it when it comes to beef...

When I cook steaks I now do them first and then leave them to rest whilst I make everything else...

+1 for resting, I would have been happy to be served that in terms of the degree to which it is cooked.

Peas and steak are a perfect combo, topped only perhaps by a Fray Bentos pie and peas.

This thread has been sitting in my mind all day. We've now got a couple of lovely rib eye steaks for dinner, which I'm planning to serve up with griddled green beans with chilli, garlic & pine nuts.

It will be at least this pink, but will also be properly rested. cloud9
