My fancy Panasonic microwave has a jacket potato setting - 10-12 mins on the raised grill rack - come out crispy but soft in the middle.

I pop mine in the oven around 200c until soft in the middle a crisp on the outside. I don't bother with foil or salting the skin.

Works every time for me

Olive oil & salt the skin before popping in the oven for 90mins or so until nice & crispy on the outside & soft on the inside!

Variety of fillings but beans or chilli always seem to be there.

Baked potato = grated mature cheddar and crispy fried bacon, with cucumber and spring onions.
Lovely

So we're talking jacket taters?
<if> you get a good one, Lurpak & a grind of salt & pepper.
Bestest boiled pots I've had were in Portugal, served salted & a lump of butter!
Good mash, (ok riced with butter & salt)

Microwave - 10 mins, grill until the skin is cripsy, followed by filling with butter, stilton and a mix of tuna, anchovies and freshly chopped red chillies....

Or, just butter, cheddar and marmite smile

Crispy skin, with fluffy insides and copious amounts of Roule or Rondele mashed in with a dollop of salted butter for good measure.

Great thread I haven't had a spud in ages. frown

The sandwich shop round the corner from work does me baked beans, garlic mushrooms and chilli cheese mix.

Great way to spice up your lunchtimes.
