Beer = Rank

Anyone else baffled by the popularity of this vile, watery, pig secretion? I've tried various popular brands from the lagers to the ales, and all that seems to happen is that they become less watery, letting the rancid tramp sweat flavour come through stronger.

Is there anyone else for whom beer is the beverage of Beelzebub, or is it a case of:

I disagree but would be keen to hear your alternative drink of choice when in the boozer with your mates...

Some beers can be rank, I can't deal with the likes of Fosbergling.

However a proper beer or a Guinness is always welcome.

The beauty of beer is its a session drink, most of the alternatives are (significantly) stronger.

When I first tried lager/beer at about 13-14 I didnt like it but my dad and brother loved beer so I forced it down

Now at 32 I love the stuff nothing like a nice cold pint

Nope, not sure it marks you out as a member of the Gay community (from my experience some of them like a beer now and then too), but I think you'll be in the minority.

What do you drink instead, as a matter of interest?

Oye am a cider drinker, don't really like any of the beers I've tried.

I'm really not keen on beer, especially in this country, I find it just doesn't go down very well. I much prefer the beer I've had in Germany or the Czech Republic.

I don't drink, don't like beer, I like a white wine occasionally, but it doesn't agree with me. so I'll have lemon'n'lime.

I'm not a great fan of beer either, however it's entirely dependent on the context:

In a Berlin Brauhaus, it would be rude to ask for anything other than the house brew.

Likewise over a plate of Galway oysters, only a Guinness will do.

Beer gives me a really bad hangover, and real ale just doesn't agree with my gut.

However, cider makes me do epic sts the morning after, so it's a trade off.

Not a fan of beer or lager on it's own, but on a hot day I do like a 50/50 lager/lemonade shandy, or a lager and lime. I'm a 44 year old male, and I'm still single. And this weekend I'm planning on cleaning the house. I'm also a fan of Rufus Wainwright.

Maybe I should just move to Brighton and assume the position...

I'm not a massive beer fan, which caused issues in my rugby days when beer was the drinking games drink.

I tend to stick to cider now but I will partake in the stuff on occasion 'ever fosters, carling etc though.

I will say, beer out of a bottle is so much nicer - I can't drink Stella except for out of a bottle.

Some beer is really rank. However i tried some japanese beer in yo sushi an it was pretty good. So i imort that now. However when young, getting paraletic on grolsh, now the thought of drinking it makes me ill

Actually, I agree with you. Grolsch is particularly rank.
