I'm staying just off High St. Ken next week for work and want to meet some friends for dinner one night.

Looking for good food but not anywhere too stuffy. Any suggestions? Ideally local to minimise the stagger back to the hotel.

If you mean a cheap tasty meal rather than 2* resturant, the Stick and Bowl a short walk from the station is okay. I mean it's not exactly Dating [see other thread] territory but it's filling.

2* would be nice. If for whatever reason I don't meet up with the group then I'll go to somewhere like that on my own.

Alternatively, the Roof Gardens is quite nice. I had an offer through the Mastercard Priceless London promotion, and we got a special Cocktail Masterclass which meant we were taught about the different types etc, then the barman worked out what we liked and were allowed to make our own cocktail! Great fun for a group. Good food too...Tuesdays have Live Jazz.

Ottoemezzo Deli for lunch, restaurant for dinner. Run by the nicest guys in the area. Also The Abingdon.

Christ, makes me homesick just thinking about it all..

bit late

but Bosphorus Kebab on Old Brompton Road is worth a visit. It's ten doors from the lambourghini showroom.

last time I was in, Fat Frank was picking up a takeaway. He looked moody cos he was on the bench earlier in the day.
