i bought a bottle of vintage port whilst in blighty last week [kopke 1997] and it has been resting upright for a couple of days now. i planned simply to decant it using a coffee filter. devoid of ceremony, but should do the trick.

i was just wondering how long it will keep for once decanted? tinternet reckons 72hrs, is that really all it is?

I'm sure you could drink it much faster than that.

There is a reason a port decanter has a rounded bottom. Bottoms up.

this is the trouble. i was going to be more restrained with it than i usually am. due to other drinking commitments smile it has lasted the weekend, doubt it will survive a second!
