I would have thought more right than correct

Ideally, plaice, crab, prawns and capers in a creamy white wine and tarragon sauce.

But lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar does the job too.

nipped to supermarket at lunchtime.

overheard a mother say to child "sorry darling, they've run of the pancake mix so we won't be able to have any today"

cue screams from child

meanwhile underneath the empty pancake mix shelf there were shelves loaded with flour and eggs and a few yards away was a fridge rammed with gallons of milk....

my gob was almost literally smacked.
