Im a big fan of the Galvin Brothers so would say to go for one of their places.
La Gavroche is menat to be one of the best for quality in London, its certainly got the highest dinner rating on Toptable
Also really enjoyed Roka on Charlotte Street. OK the staff can be a bit "off" sometimes but the food is lovely

Roka - had lunch there back in November (we were staying at the Charlotte St Hotel). Food as you say was excellent, but it felt very expensive!
Gavroche - did that for the Mrs birthday last year.
Le Manoir is on the to do list but not suitable in this case, looking for somewhere between ourselves(west of London) and friends(east).
The Square and Galvin are a good call. Pferdestarke, I'll check out your recommendations as well.
Wanted to book our local place L'ortolan but they are full on the night in question.
