tower hill anywhere nice to eat ?

got a weekend away booked at the apex city of london and was after something fairly local for the first night. also any decent asian restaurants that arnt extortionately expensive and dont need booking just in case we change our minds

You can cross the river to places like the Blueprint Cafe, Chop House, Pont de la Tour and Tentazione, but why not go into town?

I live 3 minutes away, it's goodish (if not that cheap) but I only go there because it's local to be honest. I agree with the suggestions about going into town- you're only a few stops away from town on the district line for example.

last time we were there they closed circle and district line and we had the edl marching too so just want to know places we can eat that are decent

for the asian that can be in the city. its just first night we might not be down there till gone 9 i dont want to have my tea out of a vending machine again

we ate at a really nice little vietnamese place last time on greek st think it was called viet looked like a cafe really but tasted great

Try Veranda in Limehouse on Narrow St.

I recommend the Chicken Charagya. Say I sent you!!

Cafe Spice Namaste is nearby. Decor is a little tired but I've always enjoyed the food.
Walk over Tower Bridge to Constancia for one of the best steaks in town. Also Zucca, Pizarro, Village East and The Garrison on Bermondsey Street (10-15 min walk from Tower Hill).

There's a decent sized Thai Square on Minories between Tower Hill > Aldgate tube stations as your backup Asian option. Hawksmoor for a very good steak near Spitalfields; or Gaucho on other side of Tower Bridge next to Mayors buliding. Pont de la Tour for something more upmarket.

As well as the other good suggestions here, there's also Il Bordello in Wapping, about 10 minutes walk from Tower Hill.

One of my favourite places, and whilst not cheap in terms of McDonalds, it always shocks me to see the bill is half what I expect from other places.
