Hey,

I'm buying my first house so need some pots and pans. There is too much to choose from, I don't want the cheapest I can get, but I don't want the most expensive. I've seen these in sainsburys and they seem a good deal, although I didn't want metal handles because they get hot...

Costco always have got the big pan sets, but I'm not sure on the quality of these.

Thanks in advance

Pans with metal handles will last longer.

Buy properly now and you'll have them for life.

Don't buy stupidly heavy pans because someone on the internet recommended an flash/expensive brand.

Those can't be used on induction hobs.

This may not be an issue now, but you'll kick yourself if you decide to go the induction route at some stage, then have to replace all your pans.

TK Maxx is the place to go for pots and pans, also have a look at what's on offer at Tesco.

Talking of sainsbury's, they also do a range with metal handles AND a all metal lid . None of this glass nuisance.

They are bulletproof. The range they do does vary , so perhaps not current at the mo. Sadly.

Metal handles does not necessarily mean they will get hot.

Debenhams have some deals on at the moment.

Just picked up some Circulon pans with 20% off.

Decent quality, non stick, can be used on any hob including induction, and oven / dishwasher proof.

We've had a few Sainsbury's pots and pans, both from the normal range and the 'Different by Design' range. I think they've lasted very well and will definitely buy more in future.
We also have a Debenhams set which was a gift to us, but I don't really rate those. The pans themselves have buckled, two are oval rather than round now - and they're newer/less used than the Sainsbury ones.

Circulon are excellent, I was given a set a while back- Very non-stick, great quality and excellent heavy bases-decent conduction-less burnt food!

You'll find sets at Homesense/TK Maxx at very significant discounts.

All the catering stuff has metal handles, but don't get hot. The catering stuff has welded handles, as food/bactera can build up with rivited ones.

For my saucepans, the last few years I have been using Bourgeat stainless steel catering ones - designed to be used day in and day out in comerical kitchens, with a 10 year warranty, and they are bomb proof, but still look good.

Oh, and works with induction.
