Looking to have a nice lunch (1 star or thereabouts) followed by an overnight stay in a nearby country pub with accom and decent beer.

Any suggestions, preferably within about a 2 hour drive of London.

Ta muchly in advance.

Crown at Whitbrook near Ross on Wye and stay there! I cannot praise the place enough following a visit in August. We're going again in February! (I know its pushing the boundaries of 2 hours from London but it is worth it!)

Good work gents!

I am thinking somewhere like here for lunch. 1 Michelin star, so nice but not ridiculously expensive.

Then somewhere like this for accom, although it only has 5 rooms so may need somewhere bigger as we're having a lads weekend away.
