Whisky as a gift? Where to start?
Discussion
I need to buy a couple of very PH type blokes a gift each to say thanks for helping me out in a big way last year.
I'm thinking a good bottle of that there brown stuff might be a good idea, but I've no idea where to start, I drink Gin or Vodka!!
Is it possible to get a "nice" bottle that would give an "oooh thanks" reaction without spending a billion pounds? I was thinking £30-£50 a bottle?
I had a look in the local waitrose when I wasnt being distracted by the staff of 19 year old hotties, and they've loads around that price point that come in nice boxes and are between 10 and 20 years old.
Just grab one of those or should I be more selective?
I was told "buy a single malt, you cant go wrong" before, but that may be horse crap.
Cheers

Easily done for that sort of budget, something like this I am sure would be appreciated and far from sniffed at, great at this price:

Of course with whisky the budget is endless, but that doesn't mean the more you spend the better you get per se, it's so personal and indeed they can become far more of an acquired taste.
