Dear all
I'm mulling over giving my daughter as a present a short course at a cookery School. Perhaps something specialist, Stir frying, Techniques with steaks, fowl , or even fish. Something akin to that .

She is pretty good when it comes to cooking, and she enjoys it, so I know I am onto a winner as a gift.

The thing is, is where, and does anyone other than (it seems) Waitrose offer these small specialist courses?

We are in South Lincolnshire , so it would be best if venues were in reasonable distance. That Waitrose courses look good, but appear to be in London, a long hike for a 2 or 4 hour course.

Anyone any ideas?

I recently did the beginners 5 course gourmet dining here - http://www.thesmartschoolofcookery.com/LiveSite/Em... (http://www.thesmartschoolofcookery.com)
My wife bought it for my birthday and I loved it, small classes (max 10 people), loads of practical time and a good pace. May still be a little way to travel though as she works from either Danbury (nr Chelmsford) or London.

I have bought Cookery Course/Days for my wife for a few years (Christmas presents).

She has been to the following and was impressed by all especially the one at Brompton Cookery School).

Wife does not know about the Eckington Manor trip (arrange for the 27th of January 2012) but I will look forward to her verdict after the other 3 she has been to.

Thanks for that...especially the bottom link. It's something that has not been thrown up on my searches.

As to age and level she cooks at, this is just a treat from her Dad...a surprise, something she may like. Something she ,may learn from.

It is not meant to be entirely serious, just entertainment.

I'd seen Nigel Brown, but he is near as far as London, Stamford is very interesting. Very much what I was looking for.

Thanks all.
