'Herman' the German friendship cake
Discussion
I read about 'him' in the Guardian (yeah, yeah !) only recently - well, the iPhone Guardian App
Seems to be Amish, but no clue as to why it is called Herman. Amish, germanic origins, do the Americans call the Amish "Hermans" as a perjorative ? Not got a clue, nor a beard.
Do Waitrose do it yet ?
(Dorking Waitrose is closing for most of 2012, there are going to be riots and starvation in the Mole Valley !!).

I did wonder how they were going to manage the expansion programme.Meanwhile, 'Herman' is going to be a very well-travelled cake - he's going to South Africa next.
