Hi All,

Mrs. SVX and I will be going to Jersey in a couple of weeks time, and would like recommendations for a place to go for lunch in St. Helier, and perhaps recommendations as to where we could get a decent cocktail for pre-dinner drinks?

Cheers,

SVX.

There's only one place for cocktails in my book and that's the Royal Yacht. Right in the middle of town, great bars and a top-notch restaurant to boot (not to mention that it's a pretty good hotel anyway). Also crammed with top totty in the evenings, although I suspect in your case that won't be so relevant wink

Just a quick bump.

Thanks for the recommendation for the cocktails, anyone got anywhere they'd like to suggest for lunch?

Anyone heard about the Havana Club for post dinner drinks? Recommended or spurious Trip Advisor gossip?

Quick taxi ride to St Aubin will take you here http://www.saltydogbistro.com/ which is very relaxed but absolutely superb.
Best regards

You'd have to check whether they do lunch, but went to Le Hoq last summer and had a lovely meal there.

We are staying at the Pomme D'Or in St. Helier, and have an evening table booked at the Oysterbox in St Brelade's Bay.

Our plan is to mooch about in St. Helier and grab a light lunch followed by pre-dinner drinks... The weather looks cold, but dry so we might venture out for a walk. We have the whole of Sunday too.

Wildfire just opposite the royal yacht is pretty good for steaks and drinks.

If you hear a loud m5 wave at me!

There's a lovely Italian in St Helier on the high street, I think it's called La Taverna.

And another vote for the Royal Yacht bar, pretty much opposite the Pomme D'or I think.
