Really good non-stick pan
Discussion
Hi all,
After a really good non-stick pan for Christmas that is reasonably weighted and won't lose it's non-stickiness in five minutes. Budget unlimited really. In the market for a 28cm or more. I was thinking the new Michel Roux by GreenPan look pretty good, but see GreenPan got a bit of a kicking in another thread.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
HH

In the end I bought a blue steel deybuyer pan. Not perfect, have to keep it oiled or it will rust, its also heavy but the more I use it the better it gets and will last a lifetime.
Bought from here who were excellent in delivering. http://www.salamandercookshop.com/index.php?main_p...
Just noted that the o/p on this thread was also the o/p where I slagged the greenpan off & I still do.

Costco's own Kirkland range are bloody good from my experience. Recently picked up a set of their 5 ply copper base stainless jobs (not non-stick) and I'm loathed to admit it, but they're better than my Le Creuset set which cost more than twice as much - much nicer handles too.
Did consider their non-sticks, but decided it doesn't make much difference and I'd rather have the super duper base. They also have an offer on silicon handled circulons at the minute, which are lovely and very nearly won my purchase.
Not sure if you can buy them individually, but for 140 quid a set you won't go wrong IMO.

A few of us posted in another thread regarding Circulon pans. Not too expensive, but the coating can take a fair amount of abuse, including metal utensils (within reason).
Try the search function on here for the aforementioned (sorry, I'm feeling lazy tonight). I would recommend them.

But saying that, I fancy some Circulons....
Bought two of these a couple of years ago (maybe 3) for £50 each, they have now been replaced, never again. They got the same use as previous pans and gave up the ghost earlier. Currently have a couple from Tesco on some recent offer for £20 each and some tokens, they are great so far, I think the answer seems to be don't spend too much and expect to replace them before too long with something equally not expensive.Shaolin said:

Well, I'm surprised at that. I shall be scrutinising their pans the next time I need to buy.I really hope they haven't chosen to reduce their quality in some way.
If you are after non-stick frying pans, have a look at Le Bourgeat. I've got three of these that have lasted years - I've also got several stainless steel pots and pans from their stainless steel 'Tradition Plus' range. They are used in professional kitchens and I can't fault them! I've never had any problems with sticking in the stainless steel pans and they seem indestructible!
I got most of mine from Nisbets (http://www.nisbets.co.uk) and the prices seemed to be better than a lot of celebrity endorsed products!

Sounds like it needs reseasoning - a cast iron pan should be easy to clean.
