Evening,

Am having a weekend in Manchester next weekend. Can anyone recommend me a nice eatery close to the centre, we are in the radisson so could do with somewhere in walking distance.

Thanks,

Ed.

Not really a budget and no particular preference for type of food. Last time we were in Manchester we ate at goucho and enjoyed it but fancy trying somewhere new. Maybe an Italian?

Another vote for San Carlo, or their new Tapas place opposite Chicetti. Australasia is getting good reviews but I've not been there yet. Plus if you go to Spinningfields you can have a drink in the Oasthouse.

Gaucho do fantastic steaks.

edit: ignore me, you mentioned it smile If you're a United fan you could check out Rosso, it's 2 minutes from the hotel.

The place opposite it www.sancarlocicchetti.co.uk is run by the same people and the food is just as good. However, you can't book so it's a case of turning up and having a drink at the bar until they sort a table.

My advise is to book a table somewhere else for a bit later, then go to Cicchetti and see if you get a table. If you're successful just cancel the other booking.

Rosso, at the top of King Street which is around a ten minute walk from your hotel.
Excellent food and service at the very top end. Very welcoming and an all round top drawer place.

San Rocco on King St West, or just around the corner you have Harpers, tidy little tapas type place.
Sam's chop house 2 mins walk from the town hall is another shout,
The City is your oyster.

bem brasil in either deansgate or northern quarter... keep the counter turned to the green side to keep getting given more meat, turn it to red when you are full!

Sam's/Thomas's chop house. I went for lunch yesterday (Thomas's) and I'm pleased to report the corned beef hash is still a thing of delight.

A mate of mine raves about this place. Going to have to give it a bash some time I think.

Another vote for Thomas' Chop House (more casual) and San Carlo(Veal Escalope was excellent!). Gaucho's is good, but not as good as it used to be. I also ad a nice lunch at Malmaison by the station.

John dalton st is good (just off deansgate) 3 to choose from & all good.
Restaurant bar & grill.
Vertigo.
Grill on the Alley.

Personally I'd go to Austrialasia which is middle of deansgate and under the Armani shop (entrance is pretty cool, glass triangle sticking out of the pavement) food is excellent.

El Rinco, Tapas off St Johns Street near the Hilton. About five mins walk from you, but divine.
