Do they promote the fact that they source food locally?
I wouldn't know, I don't live there.
What is the obsession with "food sourced locally" nonsense from the advertising giants really all about?
- Lesser travelled food (fuel miles) is the only way? (Pass me a banana)...
- The fact that locally sourced food will simply taste best, hands down.
- Because "Locally sourced produce" converts food to tastier status in the mind....
(just as "Bruschetta" will always sound better than "Tomato slop on toasted bread"

Bit of anti-Tesco rhetoric, bit of "food-miles" greenwash.
From a personal perspective, I find that food that the producers give a F*(k about flavour, rather than a uniform appearance tastes better, and it's easier to kick a small producer five miles down the road than a global agribusiness HQ'd in the Caymans.

Crazy fool! Do you not even recognise a turnip when you see one?Edited by dazco on Saturday 29th October 05:54

Please sir, feel free to continue your line of questioning...
Did you state that it was your belief that locally sourced food was better? And did you then agree that the term "locally sourced" was a scroupously jumped up turn of phrase which melodramatically swayed crowds, but added nothing to the eating experience? Did you or did you not then stab unbelievers with your (sharpened?) turnip?
