Boston Resturaunts

Not very quirky but generally a nice place to be is the harborside Legal Seafood! I was there a couple of months back and the rooftop bar gives some nice views of the harbour (and airport!

Also the Harpoon brewery is just down the road, $5 entry for tour and 30 minutes of drinking to be had at the end, a good time espeically this time of year with pumpkin beer. :P

It's been a while but I remember this place as being quite good

I was in Boston at the weekend - the bf proposed while we were there! We'd just been for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory - not unique or exclusive but I'm a huge fan of cheesecake and that place is my favourite! Anyway, near to the Cheesecake Factory is the much more impressive Top Of The Hub restaurant (http://www.topofthehub.net/) which has great views over Boston. Can't comment on the food though.
Its got fantastic views, it really has, so if that's what you're after then happy days. But for food ? Not a chance sorry.
I had quite possibly the worst meal I've ever had there.
I had a Kobe steak 'special' that was absolutely s
te (i.e. v v tough)...MD didn't knock any of the price off but gave us dessert for free which itself was horrible (A split creme brulee).
So for spending close to $400 in total on a decent bottle of wine, 2 starters (One scallop, one Crab), 2 x $60 Kobe specials' and some free minging creme brulee, I ended up leaving having eaten some scallops and some truffle fries that came with theLeather Steak..having lost the will to both argue (and live)
Awful....The wine was nice though (well the 2nd bottle was - the wine waiter broke the cork off in the 1st one

The girlfriend does like cheesecake so yea prob give it a go. There for a few days so plan to check out a few places.
In that case - do the Freedom Trail walk, it's really good plus you get to see lots of Boston's neighbourhoods (Beacon Hill, Around Fanueil Hall, North End/Little Italy & Charlestown) so can check out restaurants as you go.VanBas said:

Nice, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Bear in mind you'll have to queue at the Cheesecake Factory, regardless of what time it is, unless you go for lunch which might be better. We went at about 18:30 and the wait was only 15mins.Head up to Hanover Street in the North End - well worth the short walk and it's packed with good restaurants; just pick one at random, I've certainly never been disappointed. Don't order dessert either, but go and have cake & coffee at one of the pastry houses (along with most of the rest of the population of Boston - the queues can be long!). Sublime.
