I stumbled across this in one of the supermarkets (no idea which one) but this stuff is seriously on the button when it comes to flavour.

Whether it be adding to a sauce or simply spreading on toast, here's someone who understands the savory cravings us foodies have.

I keep a tube of it in the fridge at all times wink FWIW, its excellent as a savoury component in a quick jus.

can't remember..... sure it was that stuff though, as I picked it and had a look at it as I had not seen it before... I'll have a look tomorrow and report back smile

Tesco sell their own umami paste for about 3 quid not sure how it compare though?

The one I saw def had a big number on it..... can't swear weither it was 5 or 55

all as per the OP.... £2.99 with the stock cubes/pots ..... bought 1 myself, no idea what it tastes like (hoping I can substitute it for Gentlemens Relish)

out of curiosity from the MSG post... just gone and squeezed a toothpast like line on finger and sampled.... Hmmmmm no idea on MSG butreminds me very much of a pasta sauce (Puttenesca ????)... no substitute for Gentlemens Relish.... Not the Bomb I thaught
