I have just dusted off the bread maker and tried a couple of Tescos own brand mixes. We found they were incredibly salty, does anyone have any recommendations for better pre-mixes or indeed their own recipies for making bread. I suppose I should have known Tescos mixes were going to be bad!

Wright's foccacia - made into a flatbread it is wonderful. Make it in the breadmaker as a dough then bake it in the oven.

Have you still got the recipes that came with the instructions?

I use the smaller loaf setting...medium crust

11.5 fl ozs of warm water ( cold water given 20 secs in the microwave)
dollop of olive oil ( approx a tablespoon)
1 teaspoon salt
3.5 cups of strong white bread flour
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons of dried yeast

then use the basic bread option from the menu or the sandwich loaf option.

Is that a mix or flour to use in a recipe?

It's a mix, off the shelf in Sainsbury's.
