In Waitrose today, and noticed Innis and Gunn Rum cask ale.

Very, very dark colour...feisty as well, 7%+ ...

Has anyone tried it?

I must admit, I would have grabbed one....but I'm on a fixed diet at the mo.

Nothing wrong with future reference though wink

I have tried it.
It's pretty good but quite rich, 2 bottles is plenty for me, then back to the laaarrger.

Delicious stuff, might have to take up the challenge this evening! Updates tomorrow (whenever the head clears)

The whole range is fantastic.

Had the rum cask last week, definitely a much stronger taste...above posters are right - 2 is probably the max!

I'm not a huge fan of it personally. Interesting, but not one I'll buy again.

The rum cask is my favorite. Though as mentioned above, their range of beers are all ace!

Big fan, bought it a lot from Waitrose, also found both rum and oak cask variants in Tesco now. I go through periods where I drink it a lot, then stop. Probably coincides with the nights drawing in; think its more of a winter beer for me.

Another strongish (6% if memory serves) scottish beer which is nice but entirely opposite is brewdog's Punk IPA. Very hoppy.

I like Brewdog IPA but find their other stuff a bit heavy going.
I wonder about the bar that they have in Aberdeen, I have passed it a few times but have never been in.
Shirley they cant sell many pints of the stuff, its that heavy going you are sick of it after a few.
