Not sure if this should be here, or in Travel.

I am currently in Italy and thinking of making a trip to one of the local Vineyards. Can i buy a case of wine and send it home to the UK via DHL or the like? Would i have to pay tax on it, and how much would that be.

Basically what is the best way to buy wine and get it to the UK with minimum costs?

No tax as Italy in EU.

DHL is certainly an option, have a word with the vineyard folk and see if they have any recommendations

I usually hand carry it home or have them ship - usually cheaper/easier than arranging it yourself. Very little though that can't be bought in UK though so rarely seems to be worth the hassle (unless they have rare bottlings or stonking prices at the cellar door)

Just VAT...

Any place geared up for tourists will offer a 'ship it home' option.
