Flavoured spirits

I have a fair amout of vodka that i'm rather not inclined to drink...
So taking advice from my sister who has done this before I am now running a little experiment.
half kilo of blueberries, same amount of sugar. 2 apples cut into pieces... all put into vodka and planned to be left until the end of November. Never done this before, but I am already counting down the days.
I was also thinking or doing another with something else (not sure what that is at the moment) with the addition of a chili. Something a tad warming, but i'm struggling with what to put in there that would complement the vodka and the chilli. Ummm any ideas?

We have had an abundance of blackberries and decided to make use of bottle of gin that had been hanging around. 1 litre parfait jars 160g of blackberries and equal amount of sugar. leave for 3 months and strain the fruit, then leave for as long as you can resist, knowing us probably Christmas! One jar has a cinnamon stick in for a festive tipple.

I did a skittles vodka one once - you need to remove the green skittles as they turn the colour brown. Fruity and interesting, but wouldn't try it again.
Better yet. Take the vodka (pure alcohol is better), some green lemons and sugar and you make an excellent green LimoncelloCheers!
Resurected in time to remind those who didn't do anything what the'll be missing, cruel!
For a short notice (& surprisingly good one)
Werthers originals disolve really well into vodka.
Breaking them up speeds up the process to a few days when shaken at times too.
Sweet creamy toffee spirit.

I've been getting into my flavoured vodka of late (Absolut Mandarin and lemonade floats my boat), so was toying with the idea of making my own.
While Skittles vodka does sound novel, i'm not totally convinced, and wanted to keep it simple and natural, so as the receipient of a large bottle of Polish vodka last week, I have split it into two old bottles, put a sliced and grated lemon in one and a sliced and grated lime in the other, both with a couple of cubes of sugar. With regular shaking, a tweak with sugar if required in a couple of weeks and a pour through a coffee filter when done I'm hoping it will be rather pleasant.
